Emmanuel Children's Home
In October I had the wonderful opportunity to attend the dedication service of ECH. It was a great day. One that had been anticipated by many for several years. The home is very beautiful and we now have two girls living there. Their names are Luz, she is 12 & Melissa is 15. Both were very excited to be a part of this celebration. Melissa was pregnant at that time but has since then had a baby girl and both are doing well. During this visit I spoke with Beth about the needs of the home. They are in need of spanish children's books and clothes for girls of ages 10-16. If anyone would be able to make a donation for these needs it would be greatly appreciated. You may contact me through email at theresa@bmdmi.org.

It doesn't seem like it has been almost three months since I arrived. A lot has happened and I have learned many things. It has been a great honor to attend this school and to have been given the opportunity to meet the many people that I now call my family of friends. The days have been long and the burdens have been heavy at times. It rains almost every day and lately it has been very cold and windy. Some of the students only have a short walk to school. Others have to walk at least 30 minutes to get there. Most of them have small children and many days they are sick. We don't have the luxuary of being able to walk into a nice warm class room or home as they are not equiped with heating systems. Many of the homes have mold. The sidewalks are covered with green slimy mold that makes it very slippery. I have fallen several times because of it. Life here is very different and comes with many sacrifices but to me it has been worth it all. Thanks to all of your prayers God gave to me a wonderful home. School will be letting out for Christmas December 13th. It will be graduation day and many of the students will be leaving. They will carry that which they have learnd into many different countries. This will be a sad time and it will be hard to see them go but we all know that one day we shall meet again. We are all greatful that God has given us this great opportunity.I will be flying home December 10th and I can hardly wait to be there

Mission Trip to San Carlos
Recently I traveled to San Carlos Costa Rica. Often the children in the village go without food. They may get a choice of rice or beans for the day. There are no warm beds. No heat to keep them warm. Many of them do not get to go to school. You would think that these children would not have reason to smile but they do. They are precious and carry the love of God in their hearts. We had an opportunity to feed them for the day, play games and tell them about the Lord. It was a glorious time. One that I believe that Jesus was happy to look down upon.
My purpose is that they may be encourage
in heart and united in love, so that they may
have full riches of complete understanding
in order that they may know the mystery
of God, namely, Christ.
Colossians 2:2
